3-D Modeling from a Single Sketch Image Using Genetic Algorithms

چکیده
This article presents a method for constructing a surface model automatically from a single sketch image. The sketch image must be drawn on a paper based on some rules of industrial design. First, the sketch image is digitized by a scanner and a contour image is found by preprocessing. 2-D corners are detected from the contour image and 3-D coordinates of each corner are inferred as vertices of an object. Next, an adequate wire-frame model is constructed using cubic BCzier curves by moving each inferred vertex to an optimum location; the shape of the wire-frame model is optimized using genetic algorithms(GA) so that the projection of the wire-frame model coincides with the contour image. Finally, a surface model is constructed using bicubic BCzier surfaces by interpolating the wire-frame model.

Sketch-based 3-D modeling for piecewise planar objects in single images
3-D object modeling from single images has many applications in computer graphics and multimedia. Most previous 3-D modeling methods which directly recover 3-D geometry from single images require user interactions during the whole modeling process. In this paper, we propose a semi-automatic 3-D modeling approach to recover accurate 3-D geometry from a single image of a piecewise planar object w...
متن کاملPareto Optimization of Two-element Wing Models with Morphing Flap Using Computational Fluid Dynamics, Grouped Method of Data handling Artificial Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms
A multi-objective optimization (MOO) of two-element wing models with morphing flap by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques, artificial neural networks (ANN), and non-dominated sorting genetic algorithms (NSGA II), is performed in this paper. At first, the domain is solved numerically in various two-element wing models with morphing flap using CFD techniques and lift (L) and drag ...
متن کاملIntelligent scalable image watermarking robust against progressive DWT-based compression using genetic algorithms
Image watermarking refers to the process of embedding an authentication message, called watermark, into the host image to uniquely identify the ownership. In this paper a novel, intelligent, scalable, robust wavelet-based watermarking approach is proposed. The proposed approach employs a genetic algorithm to find nearly optimal positions to insert watermark. The embedding positions coded as chr...
متن کاملSuperquadrics Modeling of Multiple Objects from Shading Images Using Genetic Algorithms
This paper describes about an application of genetic algorithms (GAs) to modeling of multiple object from CCD images. Shape modeling is a very important issue for shape recognition for robot vision, representing 3-D shapes in the virtual world, and so on. Superquadrics are often used for shape modeling because they can represent various shapes by using a single equation. The proposed method est...
متن کاملData Clustring Using A New CGA(Chaotic-Generic Algorithm) Approach
Clustering is the process of dividing a set of input data into a number of subgroups. The members of each subgroup are similar to each other but different from members of other subgroups. The genetic algorithm has enjoyed many applications in clustering data. One of these applications is the clustering of images. The problem with the earlier methods used in clustering images was in selecting in...
